In 1999, when my cousin and I were about 9 and 10 years old we had an interesting conversation
We would shoot our husbands if we caught them cheating on us
There are four things that amaze me about that conversation;
- We knew what marriage was
- We knew what cheating was
- We knew what a gun was
- We knew the use of a gun
If I was making such decisions at that age, then it means I was exposed to many things for me to know about marriage, cheating and guns
How does a 9 year old girl decide to kill her husband for cheating?
That was 14 years ago
We have matured and changed our decisions
Personally, I will get a divorce depending on the situation
There are so many reasons why people cheat
I have learnt to forgive and make things work when there are problems
Using guns or shooting will not resolve any problem
Now we look back and laugh about this decision
But when we were dead serious back then when we were talking about it
I really meant what I said about shooting my husband if he cheated
How dare him cheat on me?
We spoke with so much passion and determination
At that age I did not know where we got the idea from
Maybe we watched a movie, read a novel or heard some conversations that influenced that decision
At that age, we were avid readers and writers
My cousin and I read a lot of books and wrote a lot of stories
We read adult novels too
I think if I was married at 9 years old and my husband cheated on me,
I would have shot him!
I was one mean little girl!
Stay Safe!
Lol.
crazy, funny, sad .. but true how we can be exposed to so much at such a young age.
It is even worse now. The exposure to inappropriate materials is very high.
