KITCHEN TABLE TALK; LESS FAMILY… LESS DRAMA

Posted on April 30, 2015 by Mawusi Wewobe

I have spoken to several people who prefer to be surrounded by less family members especially extended family members because they cause more trouble.

Biologically related family members are the people we all did not choose before we were born to relate with. They are our relatives because we share the same ancestor.

The older I get the less family members I speak to and surround myself with. I realised family members like all humans are not perfect and cause trouble. They actually hurt us the most because we are closer to them hence they know more about us to use to hurt us.

There is drama in every family, whether big or small but the bigger your family, the bigger the drama. I come from a big family so the drama in my family is huge. There are more people who are jealous, envious, backstabbers, liars, lazy, inquisitive, gossip and troublemakers.

The best way to avoid family drama is not involve myself in most family celebrations, gatherings and issues especially those involving extended family members. The more family gatherings you attend, the more drama you are going to witness and involve yourself in.

Family is important. They are our primary support system, but not all family members are going to be loving and supportive. If you are fortunate you might get some of the most well behaved people as family, those are the people we all wish for. They bring less drama and most often there is unity in the family. Unfortunately if you get troublemakers as family members, you will endure a lot of torture and exhaustion from dealing with them.

Just because we are biologically related does no mean I have to tolerate your nastiness. I will cut you off if you are going to ruin my life.

Adios!
