This year has been about having a balanced life, which can only happen when you have stability. This applies to most things, a stable object is balanced. You have to create a balanced life which takes time and a deliberate effort to achieve. This means having a self care regimen for yourself that gives you the balance life you need to successfully thrive.
Our mental health plays the most important role in finding stability which leads to a balanced life, unfortunately it is the part of our lives we often ignore. A stressed mind cannot focus, without focus there is no growth. Growth is important, we need to see results in everything we do. This is how we know if we are doing the right things or not. Avoid people and things that stress you or cause you any mental anguish. Be with people and do things that make you happy (as long as it does not harm you or others).
Rest is very important in a balanced life, a tired mind and body breaks down quickly. It is very crucial that we rest often and reenergise our minds and bodies. Regular checkups at the hospital is very important especially the older you get.
A healthy body functions properly and lasts longer than an unhealthy body. Life can get busy and we often forget or do not have enough time to eat healthy foods that nourish our minds and bodies. You do not need a diet, you just need to eat well. Your food is your medicine.
Jobs are one of the major causes of stress for most people especially when you do not love the work you do but as a means of survival. If possible find a job that is less stressful, hire extra people if you can afford to lessen the workload on you or add extra days to your workload so you do not have to do a lot within a short period.
Relationships are very important, no man is an island and we need connections to other humans to thrive. Spend time with people who pour into your life with encouragements, support, love and attention. Pour back into these people, they also need to feel loved.
Find the time to nourish yourself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. You cannot pour from an empty cup, refill yourself often.
Happy New Year!
